The Kessel Funeral home is owned and operated by Valerie J. Kessel-Worley along with her husband Craig C. Worley. Originally from Effingham, Valerie has been in the funeral industry since graduating from Worsham Mortuary College in September 1989. After college Valerie worked managing 3 funeral homes and a crematory in McHenry County just outside of Chicago.
In 1996 she moved from McHenry to St. Elmo, and bought the May Funeral Home along with her parents Calvin L. and Mary "Libby" E. Kessel who helped run the business till her father passed away in January 2002.
Originally from St. Louis, Mo. Craig worked in the Information Technology field working for companies like Mastercard, SWB and Edward Jones. He joined the firm full time in 2003 and continues to work with computers for local residents and business owners.
Together Craig and Valerie are dedicated to provide compassion and dignity to the families they serve. |
